DON’T GIVE UP – TRUST GOD!
And saying , Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep , all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
- While this scripture in perfect context speaks of the return of the Lord, it also i directly deals with the attitude and impatience people have towards God….the skepticism and unbelief that He is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do. This is what I want to deal with today.
- Sometimes we become discouraged. What causes discouragement? Our circumstances
- We sometimes pray but wonder why it is that God does not move or seem to move when we want Him to. But He is moving and has His own time.
- Often we are our own worst enemies and the cause of delays in answer to prayer
I am weary of my crying : my throat is dried : mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
- How often have we gone though things in our lives and felt just this way?
And let us not be weary in well doing : for in due season we shall reap , if we faint not.
- When we feel discouraged, it is often Satan who is behind it all.
- Before resurrection, there is always death and before victory and breakthrough we quite often go through the darkest and deepest trials
- Don’t quit!!!!
- The Word of God tells us that we should not be tired of doing good, of doing right, of trying to have faith, of seeking God and trusting in Him. Why?
- Because there is this promise that if we do not give up, in “due time” or “due season” we will reap or receive the reward or answer or breakthrough we are looking for.
- What are you going through today? What have you been believing God for? Don’t give up! Your breakthrough is still coming. God has everything under control.
- Note that “due season” is HIS TIMING….not yours.
- The next scripture shows us how our breakthrough and answers come.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run , and not be weary ; and they shall walk , and not faint .
- We are commanded to wait on the Lord. This is not passive waiting but it involves prayer and meditation with faith. The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God and that we must believe that He is a rewarded of them that seek Him.
- We are promised renewal.
- We are promised strength.
- We must continue at all times to be steadfast and seek God no matter what the circumstances are and no matter how long it seems we have waited because the Bible tells us that God is a rewarder of those who “diligently” seek Him.
End this thought and message by going back to Galatians 6:9. We have our promises there. If we do not become weary….if we do not give up….in due time we will see answers and victory. Remember this….that God has everything under control. Satan has no dominion or power over you or your circumstances unless you give up and allow it. Even what Satan thinks is his victory, God will turn to defeat. You will always prevail when you keep your trust in the Lord!
